Amal Clooney Scholarship (100%)

What is it? One full fee award is available for all postgraduate law degrees, excluding short courses, starting in September 2024.

Sponsored by the Clooney Foundation for Justice, The Amal Clooney Scholarship for Human Rights Advocates is dedicated to supporting human rights advocates and championing change.

Who is it for? All postgraduate law courses excluding short courses

How much is it worth? One full fee

How do I apply? Complete an online questionnaire and achieve a passing score of 8 out of 11 questions. If you successfully pass the above stage, you will then be sent an email about the next stage in which you will need to submit and achieve the highest score on the Written Project Proposal.

How much is it worth? All eligible international students will receive the International Bursary annually and the amount will depend on which course you are studying:

- Bar Practice Course (BPC), LLM Legal Practice (SQE1&2), LPC (Full Time and Accelerated), MA Law (Conversion), MA Law (SQE1), Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL): £1,000 in total

- LLM Bar Practice Course, Masters Program in Computer Science, MSc Criminology and Criminal Justice, MSc Psychology (Conversion): £1,500 in total

- LLB, BSc Computer Science with Foundation Year, BSc Computer Science, BSc Business, BSc Psychology, Academic Masters in Law (Non-London): £2,500 per academic year

Lord Blunkett Widening Access Scholarship ( £2,000)

The University of Law Undergraduate Bursary (£1,000 per year)

What is it? The University of Law Undergraduate Bursary is for students starting their studies with us in September 2024 and January 2025. This bursary intends to provide additional financial support to new full-time undergraduates who have a household income of “zero” (as calculated by your national student finance service).

Who is it for? All undergraduate degrees, excluding apprenticeship programmes

How much is it worth? Awards of £1,000 per academic year of the course (except during any year-long work placement) depending on the household income remaining at zero in the proceeding academic years.

How do I apply? There is no separate application for The University of Law Bursary. In order for the university to automatically assess your eligibility you will need to follow these three steps:

- Apply for student finance through one of the following UK National student finance services

- Provide your household income to your national student finance service.

- Both you and your sponsors/parents/partner/guardians must give consent to share your household income with the University. Your consent must be activated on your student finance service account before/on 31st October 2024 or 28th February 2025 dependent on the date you commence your course. For any queries on giving your consent please contact your national student finance service directly.

Early Bird Discount (£500)

What is it? We're offering eligible international students an early bird discount of £500 on course fees, called the “Early Bird Discount”, in relation to certain courses.

Who is it for? To be eligible for the Early Bird Discount you must:

- be an international student, which means someone who is a non-British national, who does not have a settled or pre-settled status and pays overseas tuition fees;

- be required to apply for a Student Route Visa in order to study at the University; and

- be required to pay £6,000 deposit toward your course fee before the dates provided below (this payment will either be required at the point you accept your offer or later in connection with your Student Route Visa application process).

How much is it worth? £500

How do I apply? You do not need to make an application for the Early Bird Discount – if you are eligible as described below, the Early Bird Discount will automatically be applied to your university account.
